The Bird of Prey Series
Canada’s Bird of Prey series is a follow-on from the successful wildlife series and debuted earlier this year with the launch of the Peregrine Falcon. The Canadian Mint recently announced that the one million mintage of the Peregrine Falcon is almost sold out and the Bald Eagle is expected to sell even quicker now news of the coin series is out in the public conscious.
CEO of the Royal Canadian Mint, Marc Brûlé, says the Bald Eagle Bullion Coin has “appeal and relevance transcends borders.” The Bald Eagle is such a ferocious predator it has no natural enemies and is honoured as a potent symbol of vision, power, and stoicism. With a natural habitat in large trees near bodies of water the birds survive on a diet of fish, birds and invertebrates and will also steal from other predators.
The 2014 Bald Eagle silver one ounce coins are the second in a four coin series that will be manufactured biannually in 2014 and 2015. Using the latest minting techniques the finely crafted bullion are an attractive acquisition for collectors and first-time buyers of precious metals.
